Internet explorer 8 - Find on Page

Many times when you open wikipedia for some search term and keep finding that term in any article of 10,000 words, you find what a mess wikipedia is. But now whenever you try to find any term on any web page with Internet Explorer 8, what you have to do is to just press Ctrl F and that’s it. A beautiful search box will appear below your tab to help you finding that search term thought the page.

Even you wont have to write the complete term in the search box, when you will start typing IE will automatically find all matching words and highlight them. Lesser the keyboard hits lower the Microsoft keyboard sales. I bet Internet Explorer 9 will be a text version.

Internet Explorer 8 - Reopen last browsing session

With Internet explorer 8 users will also get and enhanced functionality (enhanced as defined by Microsoft and primitive as defined by mozilla) of restoring last session of browsing. This is an essential feature and at least it is included in this version of Microsoft Internet explorer. Otherwise closing and reopening the same windows again and again that too in IE was always a tough job, for users like us not for Microsoft – because they use mozilla firefox.

Internet Explorer 8 - Enhanced Tab Browsing

With the tab browsing feature quite new to Internet explorer, now Microsoft is giving Internet browsing a new color. As our traditional tab browsing shipped with Firefox , Chrome, etc its sometimes quite an head ache to maintain large number of tabs. People do forget from which tab the current tab is associated with.

Now Microsoft solves this problem in a colorful way. For eg. If I opened a new tab from an existing tab both these tabs will become a part of a group tab and will be given a specific color such as red, blue or something else, making it quite useful for the user to identify the tab relationship with other open tabs.

Internet Explorer 8 - Webslice Feature

Internet Explorer 8 includes a feature called web slice with this feature Microsoft has enhanced the users browsing experience with internet explorer to a great extent. With web slices there is not need for a person to keep on checking at ebay what the latest bid for an item is by constantly visiting the ebay website. All a user has to do is to include a Webslice of that item into Internet explorer 8 favorite item by clicking a 'green' icon which will appear on the item for which the web slice is available while browsing. It's RSS in a new Avatar.

Note: Please note that enabling web slice on server side is dependents completely on the website developers. They have to insert a small code in their website in order to enable it.

Windows 7 Beta Installation Step By Step 2/2

Microsoft Windows 7 installation methods :-

There are 2 methods to install Windows 7 beta version. The first method is called Clean installation and the second method is called upgrade installation.

  • Clean installation: - If your computer has no operating system installed you have to follow the steps defined in the clean window 7 installation.

Please note: - If you have any windows installed prior to windows vista 7 version and want to upgrade, you can not and you will either have to delete your existing operating system or you will have to perform a multi boot (2 or more OS installed in 1 computer) operating system.

  • Upgrade installation: - If you have Windows Vista installed with SP1 on your computer then you can straight away upgrade your Operating system settings and data by upgrading it to the latest version of Windows ie: Windows 7 Beta

Windows 7 Beta Installation Step By Step 1/2

Installing Windows 7 Beta is like the same old task - inserting the CD , DVD, a few clicks , register through internet and there you are with your installed version of Microsoft Windows 7 beta.

Requirement before you download and start the installation are as follows:-

  • A blank DVD
  • A PC with Blank DVD Burner
  • 1 GHz 32 bit / 64 bit processor
  • 1 GB of RAM
  • 16 GB of available disk space
  • DVD R/W
  • Internet Access

Lets explain the above requirements - you need a blank DVD (you know for what) for burning the software, you need a processor of 1GHz - that is easily available in market and if you don’t have it you must be living in some cave, you need 1 GB RAM – that is quite a high requirement of memory but of course all the Vista Guys must be having it., you need 16 GB of Hard Disk Space (start deleting your old mp3s now) and internet access of course to download the operating system

After you download Windows Vista 7 Beta Version you will get it in an ISO image (ISO image is an image which is a readable by only your CD/DVD burner). Then you need to burn the software with a CD/DVD burner like Nero.

Note:- In order to enable Aero theme you will also need support for DirectX 9 graphics with 128 MB memory
